Electrolytically generated Hypochlorite solution is used in several applications requiring a low- cost, on-hazardous and powerful biocide or oxidizing agent.

The raw materials and energy needed for the electrolysis process-is common. Salt dissolved in water and direct current electricity. The most common readymade solution is seawater, when that source of inexpensive salt (Seawater) is not available or suitable for the desired quality of the product, artificial brine is prepared using ordinary salt and tap water. The concentration levels obtainable with the electronic process are comparatively low this makes it economic and practical that the hypochlorite solution be used on-site that is within pumping distance from the production plant.

ELECTRO CHLORINATOR

Electro Chlorinator is the same name given to process where by an electrical current is used to convert sodium chloride solution to sodium hypochlorite or chlorine. In practice a number of electrodes are normally connected together to form an electrolyzer assembly. Brine solution passes through the electrolyzer cells where it is electrochemically transformed into sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl). The overall reaction sustained by electrical is as follows: 2NaCl(salt) + H2o(water) + Energy = NaOCl(hypo) + Nacl(salt) + H2(hydrogen)

Maintenance & Operation

Accumulation of dust, dirt and corrosion many devices.Therfore, periodically a routine cleaning and inspection should be established.
The following routine maintenance is recommended. Check for cleanliness of the process controller (internally) as well as rectifier cubicle and surface of components such as transformer-every month. Cleaning is best accomplished by means of compressed air blower or a soft hairbrush. Never use any cleaning fluids. Check for tightness of all wiring and bolted connections at least yearly. Check all tubing for any deformation, leakage or blockage every month. Record the DC voltages across each cell at 90A and the DC voltmeter and Ammeter readings daily.

Acid Washing System

After long operation period, some deposits consisting mainly of calcium, magnesium and sulphate, which are used caused by the salt water hardness, may form over the electrodes and especially on the cathodes-A process commonly referred as "scaling" which is a universal problem. These deposits are periodically removed by de-scaling process in a diluted solution of hydrochloric acid, which is circulated through the electrolyses of a generator module by means of a centrifugal pump.

Operation

1. Connect the output terminals with proper polarity (as per circuit diagram)
2. Check the connections & Polarity thoroughly
3. Check the fuse rating as mentioned by us,
4. Feed the unit by 230Volts, single phase A.C
5. Check the process tank ­­­­level; fill the brine up to required level
6. Check the various and put in minimum voltage
7. After completion of Chlorinator the main switch should be switched off

Reconditioning Of the Cell's Electrodes

The operating life time of the cathodes is over several years, under normal operating conditions. The anodes however have activated surfaces, which in the long run are subjected to lose their activities, when the activities of the anodes are nearing its end, the voltage drop across the cell increase above the normal values. A slight difference in the voltage before and after washing with fresh water and also appear at the rectifier DC voltmeter, but when the voltage increase is due to lose of activity of the anodes, if cannot be eliminated by washing or otherwise, When such voltage increase is detected, process as follows:
a) Record the DC voltage value.
b) Replace the cells showing higher voltage with spare cell.
c) Send the old cell to M/s Athavan Traders for reconditioning with an additional cost to be borne by you.
d) All expenses incurred for reconditioning shall be borne by the customer.

WARRANTY

Mechanical Warranty: One year from the date of supply.
Performance warranty: We give one year performance warranty provided the operator should strictly follow the operation instructions.
Electrolyzer warranty: We offer the warranty for Electrolyzer is 12 months from the date of invoice under the condition that the plant is operated checked and maintained according to the instructions. All other spare parts carry a twelve months (1 year) warranty only. During the warranty period, shall repair or replace any parts, which may show to be exhausted or otherwise unsuitable for further operation, in its works. No replacement parts will be provided without the return of the defective components and proof of age of the component. Will not be liable for any consequential loss or damage caused by operation outside our prescribed limits as outlined in our instruction manual, Incorrect installation, connection to incorrect power supply, modification to main power supply unit or cell, misuse, abuse negligence, accidental damage or normal wear and tear will not be recognized under these warranty terms. This warranty applied to the original purchaser and is not transferable. All costs involved the transportation of the components to and fro works such as packing, freight, insurance, customs duties etc., are excluded from engagement under this warranty. After the warranty period here above specified the reconditioning of the electrolyzers or other parts of ECU will be at owner's risk.
